WOLF RESIDENCE:
Originally a Carl Strauss designed home, the owners, Louise and Alan Wolf desired to provide additional casual living spaces to the house. The addition replicated the details and materials originally used, while providing for a family room that could be converted into a future master bedroom. Building upon the geometry and frame originally designed, the addition is meant to balance with as already existing building extension. In doing so, the new wing begins to resolve what was originally seen as an unbalanced building. The interior space reflects what the client had appreciated in the architect's previous work- colorful, dynamic, and inspirational. Entering from a symmetrical and static cylinder, the room orientation and form bring the space alive. Furniture and decorations selected and coordinated by the owner. |
