The Woodlands Middletown Community Recreation Center replaces an outdated and overcrowded facility. Placed on the site of the former John XXIII School, the new facility contains a wellness center, fitness center, exercise pool, banquet room, restaurant, lounge, terrace, administrative day services, crafts, social services, training, Alzheimer services, and offices. SFA Architects, provided master planning and complete architectural, engineering and interior design services. The design features iconic humanist forms arranged on the site to maximize interaction with the surrounding natural woodland and water features.
