The Center serves as a training facility for educators of new teaching methods and the use of advanced technology, as well as housing the district's administrative staff. SFA Architects, designed the renovation of the existing middle school into a dynamic, modern, and comfortable facility - a challenge in itself due to limitations of the existing building. Work included a new multi-purpose interactive auditorium with a high-tech control room/broadcast booth, new resource centers, and a central ceremonial entry corridor, all utilizing high-tech systems and equipment. The former middle school was renovated to become home for the Mayerson Academy, a nonprofit institution for the revitalization of local school districts. A state-of-the-art training center with the goal of using the latest and most advanced methods in theory and technology to train local educators, the academy has been recognized as one of the premier institutions of this type in the nation.
