COLUMBUS REGIONAL HEALTHCARE SYSTEM
A freestanding pediatric ambulatory care facility, including a retail pharmacy/ convenience shop and pediatrics after-hours clinic. A project with a moderate budget, this project was designed to appeal to a wide range of ages among user groups. The design theme is based upon a vocabulary of simple geometric shapes, which are executed in flooring materials, ceiling soffits, wall treatments, and neon tubing. The design strategy was to stimulate the imagination of patients and visitors through the juxtaposition of fantasy objects (such as flying ships, magic castles, etc.) within a simple environment of bright colors and shapes.
