CINCINNATI CITY HALL EXTERIOR RESTORATION
In 2004, SFA Architects completed the exterior restoration of the Cincinnati City Hall. This historic building is both a precious landmark and working building for Cincinnati's local government. Built in 1852, the aging building was in need of significant restoration. Because the City wished for all renovations to be true to the historical time period in which it was originally constructed, we were hired to perform a comprehensive exterior analysis of existing conditions and recommend methods of accurate restoration. In order to retrofit many of the older masonry pieces, our office performed a historical research project regarding ancient masonry manufacturing and installation techniques. The existing roof system and windows were also in need of time appropriate, retrofit repair and replacement. Consequently, our office is proud to be a part of the repair and restoration of this registered historic landmark. |
